Celebrate inter-city trails on the C&O Canal Towpath
and the rail-trails of the Allegheny Trail Alliance by riding the last day of Yokatomactrek '99
 

A group of riders will start the Yokatomactrek in Washington DC and spend a bit over week riding westward. The Trail-A-Bration will share the last day of that trip.

Everyone is welcome to join the ride for the final day or even the whole weekend. We hope to have a few hundred people on the Trail-A-Bration.

Sun June 20 Fathers Day Grand Finale Start at Cedar Creek Park, ride 22 miles to McKeesport for a trail celebration. After that, move to the Eliza Trail, and ride 5 more miles (round-trip) on the Eliza trail to a welcoming ceremony near the Jail. Mayors of McKeesport and Pittsburgh will welcome you. Snacks, lunch at McKee Park. Commemorative shirt optional. a la carte

Show your Trail Pride! Choose the Y-Trek "Course" that's best for you. Then make your reservation for Sunday, June 20!

The Yockatomac Special For our most enthusiastic supporters who want all the trimmings! Leave your vehicle at McKees Point Marina at 8:30 a.m. and shuttle to Cedar Creek Park. Ride 22 miles with the Y-Trekkers back to McKeesport for lunch and the Y-Trek Fest celebration. At 2:30 p.m., proceed by car to Greenfield Access to the Eliza Furnace Trail for the mass ride into downtown Pittsburgh. Bike the final 2.6 miles to the Trail-A-Bration Grande Finale featuring Mayor Tom Murphy and kicking off a week of Rail-to-Trail events in conjunction with Pittsburgh's hosting the RTC's international conference June 23-26.

Full Course Turf & Surf” Hit the Cedar Creek Park trail at 9:15 a.m. and ride 22 miles to McKees Point Marina in time for lunch al fresco and Yockatomac Trek Fest '99! Music, kayaking/canoeing demonstrations and lots of McKeesport hospitality led by Mayor Joe Bendel. Festivities kick-off at 12:15 p.m. with the arrival of the Y-Trekkers and wind down at 2:30 p.m.
Turf & Surf & Turf option:
Drinks and fruit will be available at Cedar Creek Park at 8:00 a.m.

Turf & Surf à la carte Not up for the 44-mile round-trip from Cedar Creek to McKees Point and back? Turf & Surf à la carte is for you. Park at McKees Point Marina parking lot, take the shuttle to Cedar Creek Park and cut your ride in half. Shuttles depart between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. Your car will be waiting for you as you and the Trekkers make your way down Water Street to the Y-Trek Fest.

Park `N Eat If you're giving the old bike Sun-days off, come to McKees Point Mari-na to eat, be merry and support the Trekkers' accomplishment. Parking available in the Marina's upper lot.

Plan to arrive by 12:15 p.m. to help spice up our welcoming committee as the riders roll in from D.C. After lunch and the 1:00 p.m. Y-Trek presentation, drive on to the Second Avenue parking lot at the end of the Eliza Furnace Trail for the Trail-A-Bration Grande Finale at 4:00 p.m. with Mayor Tom Murphy. Your day doesn't end here: Head over to The Point for the Three Rivers Arts Festival.

Y-Trek Short Cake The Y-Trek Short Cake is for our trail friends and their families whose morning is booked, but but still want to be part of the Trail-A-Bration. Get your pedal fix by meeting us at the Greenfield Access to the Eliza Furnace Trail at 3:30 p.m. and a short 2.6-mile ride to the Second Avenue parking lot where the Trail-A-Bration Grande Finale takes place at 4:00 p.m. For another course of fun, why not check out the Arts Festival at The Point after our gig?
