Welcome our rails to trails project connecting Cumberland, MD with Pittsburgh, PA. We're the Allegheny Trail Alliance, a group of trail-building organizations working to build this bicycle and walking trail system. At Cumberland we link to the C & O Canal Towpath, creating a continuous ride to Washington, DC.

We want you to use our great passage through the Alleghenies, so we've designed this site to give you information you need for an enjoyable trail experience. There are maps for you to print out, lists of services along the trail, bike shops, links to connecting trails and other services. So click on in, and Happy Trails!
